OPEN DARTS COMPETITION 2025

There's trying...	and there's trying too hard!

"Let's play Darts..." A relatively new event in the school calendar is the annual Darts competition, open to all staff and pupils.  Not so much Lakeside, more River Tâff-side.  Closing stages of this year’s event, Friday 21 February 2025 organised by Year 11 Director of Learning, and budding Darts 'Master of Ceremonies', Mr Olly Anthony.

Quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final were played in front of a large appreciative, knowledgeable crowd in the main hall, each tie, the best of a single ‘501 leg.’  The final. Haydn ‘The Trewth’ Trew against Year 8 pupil, Connor ‘The King.’  The ultimate game produced some scintillating darts, both players kept in check by ‘scorer’, Mr Jon Astley, fully justifying his position as Head of Mathematics with an almost flawless display of subtracting the numbers!

Congratulations to Connor 'The King', who edged-out 'The Trewth' to claim this year’s prestigious title.  A special mention to Mr Nic 'Dark Horse' Jones who won the Staff 'Nearest the Bull' competition!
