Brief introduction to Faculty
The English Faculty’s priority is to ensure all pupils can access a stimulating, creative and varied curriculum, allowing them to gain vital skills in reading, writing and speaking and listening.

Pupils follow the National Curriculum at KS3 and then go on to study two GCSEs in English Language and English Literature at KS4. All pupils in KS3 are encouraged to read via our Accelerated Reader programme and DEAR initiative. At KS4 all pupils are supported with after-school revision sessions and interventions, designed to support pupils’ learning.

The pupils are offered the chance to take part in a range of extra-curricular activities including visits to the Hay Festival, The Harry Potter Studios and the National Theatre.
