  Having earned a degree in Law and a Masters in International Development and Human Rights Law at the University of Warwick, Mr. Phillips embarked on a successful career as a solicitor, specialising in Personal Injury, which included four years as Team Manager at New Law Solicitors in Cardiff. Upon securing a scholarship with Teach First, he decided to change his career path, spending time at Cyfarthfa High School during his training years. Following the completion of his PGCE, Mr. Phillips opted to remain in Merthyr and has been teaching at Afon Tâf ever since. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching football and cricket, and going to the theatre.

  Mr Anthony completed his degree at the University of Gloucestershire and his PGCE in Religious Education at the University of Wales, Bangor. Mr Anthony taught at Bradley Stoke Community School (Bristol) and St Joseph's RC High School (Newport) before joining Afon Tâf High School as Head of RS. In his spare time Mr Anthony likes to cook, ride his bike and compete in long distance triathlons!

  Mr N C Jones

  Mr Jones studied Sport and Physical Education at Cardiff Metropolitan University. After completing his degree, Mr Jones commenced his teaching career at Cyfarthfa High School before moving further down the valley to join TeamTâf. He is a keen marathon runner and an even keener football player who has gained a UEFA C Football coaching licence through the Football Association of Wales. In his spare time, Mr Jones enjoys socialising with family and friends.
