Year 11 Leavers 2023
The Year 11 Leavers’ Assembly 2023 heralded another academic year just about to ride off into the educational sunset. On Tuesday 20 June 2023 Afon Tâf High School bid a fond farewell to its current Year 11 cohort and wished them well for all future endeavours. The annual ‘assembly’ intended as a celebration and ‘thank-you’ for pupils' contributions made to #TeamTâf over the last five years was attended by many Year 11 family members alongside a selection of current staff.
Every retiring Year 11 pupil was presented with a keepsake ‘Yearbook,’ a nice 'touch' and popular feature of these assemblies. Countless certificates and many other awards highlighting achievements and key personal qualities were enthusiastically presented by Headteacher, Mr S C James and Year 11 Director of Learning, Mrs Z Rourke,
The Dominic Gubb Award, was a poignant addition to this year’s list of pupil prizes and intended as a fitting tribute to one of Afon Tâf’s most talented educators and mentors who passed away tragically in December 2022. This inaugural award was received by two of our brightest starlets, Macie, and Ella. Well done to you both.
